This privacy notice tells you about the information we collect from you when you purchase one or more of our products via our website. In collecting this information, we are acting as a data controller and, by law, we are required to provide you with information about us, about why and how we use your data, and about the rights you have over your data. What personal data do we collect?

When you purchase from us online we request the following information from you via the online application forms on our website:

  • Contact Number
  • Date of Birth


Why do we collect this information?

We will use your information to book a holiday at Abbey Lakes. We will also send you a receipt via email and we may use your telephone number to contact you regarding your booking. We require this information in order to process your booking and fulfil our contract with you.

What do we do with your information?

All the information we collect from you is stored in the UK and processed in France. The bookings database containing all booking information collected from the online booking form is stored and remotely backed-up on a secure web server in a Data Centre managed and owned by the UK web hosting company IONOS Cloud Ltd.

Your payment details are passed to a third-party payment processor Crédit Agricole CIB. NO payment details are ever stored by us. We use Crédit Agricole CIB to provide us with a secure debit and credit card payment processing service. If you choose to pay by this method online via our website, your card details, name, address, IP address, and email will be transmitted to Crédit Agricole CIB securely for the processing of payment and for fraud prevention. Crédit Agricole CIB will not store your card details.

We work with businesses who manage and support our website and as such, they have access to the information that we request from you in order to process your booking. In rare cases we may disclose information to third parties where a legal obligation, or similar order is enforced upon us. Abbey Lakes do not share data with any third parties other than those specifically mentioned above.

We will always take all necessary steps to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with this privacy policy.

How long do we keep your information for?
We keep your information on file unless a request is made to us to delete it. We do this so you can log in to book holidays in the future.

Your rights over your information

By law, you can ask us what information we hold about you, and you can ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate.

  • Easily access their data. All customers are granted access to their 'Abbey Lakes Customer Account' area of the website and are able to view and maintain the information we hold on file for them at any time.
  • Have data rectified upon request. All customers have the right to change their details and can do so themselves via the 'Abbey Lakes Customer Account' of the website, or by emailing us or by putting it in writing to us.
  • Have their data removed. Customers have the right to request removal from our database at anytime. Requests must be made by email to us or in writing to us.
